Surge Protection

Surge Protection for Power Supply Systems

DEHN Red/Line surge protection portfolio offers comprehensive solutions for safeguarding low, medium, and high-voltage systems—up to 1,000 V a.c. / 1,500 V d.c.—against surges resulting from lightning strikes and switching operations, from residential panels to medium-voltage distribution, trust our technology to deliver uncompromising protection and long-term reliability.

Medium-voltage arrester

Medium-voltage arrester for protecting trans-formers, switchgear installations and transmis-sion lines against surges. Directly mounted on the mast, point of transition between the over-head line and the cable or transformer.

Coordinated Type 1 Lightning Current Arresters

Thanks to their high efficiency, coordinated spark-gap-based type 1 lightning current ar-resters are ideally suited for installation in the main distribution board of low-voltage con-sumer’s installations.

$

Type 2 Surge Arresters

Type 2 DEHNguard S/M…CI/SCI surge arresters are available in different types and volt-ages and are ideally suited for a.c., d.c. and PV applications.

$

Type 3 Surge Arresters

Type 3 arresters are typically used for protecting terminal equipment. Different types of enclo sures allow easy installation close to terminal equipment.

$

Measuring and test equipment

Multi-functional power quality measuring de vices, monitoring devices for the potential-free registration of the discharge processes of pro-tective devices and testing the sparkover voltage of surge protective devices.

$

General accessories

Adequate accessories such as terminals, insulating enclosures or busbars make it easier to in-stall and monitor DEHN surge protective devices in many applications.

$

Surge Protection for Information Technology Systems

DEHNYellow/Line surge protection portfolio—engineered to safeguard your IT infrastructure, building systems, process plants, and telecommunications against damaging surges. Designed for reliability, trusted for performance.

Pluggable DIN Rail Mounted SPDS

The pluggable DIN rail mounted arresters of the BLITZDUCTORconnect and BLITZDUCTOR SP/XT/XTU series can be universally used for protecting measuring and control circuits as well as bus and telecommunication systems

$

SPDs for LSA Technology

The DEHNrapid series for LSA technology is a flexibly combinable system of lightning current and surge arresters for telecommunication sys-tems and measuring and control applications.

$

Measuring and test devices

The DEHNrecord portfolio includes products for preventive and condition-based maintenance of different LifeCheck-equipped arrester families. The associated monitoring devices are available as stationary units or flexible handheld test de-vices.

$

SPDs for telecommunication and data networks

The surge arresters of the DEHNpatch product series protect Ethernet and Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices. They can be flexibly installed/retrofitted at the terminal device or in 19″ distribution cabinets.

$

SPDs for Coaxial Connection

The arresters of the DEHNigate and UGKF series provide protection for coaxial systems such as satellite systems, modem technology, video and transmission systems and large transmitters and receivers.

$

SPDs for field devices

Surge arresters of the DEHNpipe series provide effective protection for field devices, also in haz-ardous areas

$

Surge Protection for Lightning Equipotetial Bonding

Equipotential bonding is a critical element in electrical safety and lightning protection systems. Its main purpose is to eliminate dangerous potential differences between conductive parts during fault conditions or lightning strikes, thus protecting both people and equipment.

Isolating spark gaps

Isolating spark gaps for aboveground and underground installation are used to indirectly earth and connect functionally isolated parts of installations under lightning conditions.

$

DC decoupler

DC decoupler for protection in case of transient, temporary and long-duration overvoltages caused by external voltages from various sources of interference (e.g. high-voltage systems, traction power supply systems, low-voltage systems, lightning interference).

$

SDS

The function of voltage-limiting devices in railway systems is to permanently connect parts in the overhead contact line and pantograph zone to the return circuit as soon as the sparkover voltage is exceeded.
